Waitlist that actually fills cancellations
When a lesson cancels, Passdesk fires push offers to the right waitlist learners and the first to tap "claim" gets the slot. No round-robin texts, no group-chat scramble — and no empty hour for the instructor.

How the Passdesk waitlist fills a cancellation
- 1
Student joins the waitlist
A learner picks the day or time window they want and joins the waitlist. They allow push notifications when prompted.
- 2
A slot opens
When you cancel a lesson (or it cancels itself, e.g. weather), Passdesk picks the matching waitlist students and fires push offers.
- 3
First-come-first-served claim
Whoever taps "claim" first gets the slot — the booking moves to them, their package balance updates, you carry on.
FAQ
Do students need to download an app?
No — Web Push works on any modern phone. The student gets the offer like any other notification, with a one-tap claim.
What about students without push?
Pro, Team, and Scale tiers can fall back to SMS for offers. SMS is billed at cost (~£0.04/msg in the UK). Email-only fallback is also available.
Can multiple students claim the same slot?
No — the claim is a server-side first-write-wins lock. Late tappers see "already taken" and stay on the list for the next opening.
